We are looking for a highly organized, enthusiastic book lover to join our sales and marketing team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Marketing Coordinator works closely with in-house teams, as well as authors and illustrators, to create and implement plans and activities that will promote the house and its titles.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

General Marketing
• Work with the team to build seasonal and yearly marketing plans
• Maintain a relationship with SSP authors and illustrators, supporting their marketing efforts

Digital & Social Media
• Plan yearly calendar for Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and any other platform as required and work with the team to come up with social media campaigns.
• Create post content for social media by creating graphics on Canva and taking photos, writing captions in the brand voice, and scheduling posts using Loomly.
• Create & boost social media advertisements as necessary.
• Daily monitoring of all social media accounts, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and any other digital platform as required.
• Report on social media analytics on a monthly basis.
• Management of NetGalley and Edelweiss accounts and promotions.

Metadata
• Create, maintain, and distribute all metadata of SSP titles on Booksonix including, but not limited to, current covers, interior art and author information.
• Conduct audits on backlist data to ensure consistency across all SSP data.

Advertising and promotional materials
• Assist with planning and booking paid social media, Google Ads, and other online paid promotions.
• Assist with development and production of print and digital promotional material, including catalogues, posters, bookmarks, etc.

Events
• Assist with events and trade shows, such as launch parties, OLA, RFTLOI, and Festival of Trees, Booklist Webinars etc. Fully responsible for creating virtual booths and organizing in-person stands when possible, including scheduling of booth staff (both in-person and virtual) when necessary
• Live coverage of events via social media as needed
• Design event posters and signage as requested

Review Media
• Update review media lists & processes each season for every book
• Send books for review each season, both via email and physical mail
• Maintain all mailing lists, including to reps, in-house sales list, institutional and media
• Find and build relationships with Book Bloggers and reviewers on social platforms like Instagram & TikTok with a focus on earned media coverage.

Awards
• Keep awards records up to date with the most recent information & submission instructions so that when submissions open, books can be sent immediately
• Submit books to eligible awards as submissions open up
• Update awards spreadsheet on which awards were submitted to, eligibility of SSP books, and which books were sent to which prize
• Keep the rest of the marketing team up to date on award submission results, especially wins and nominations, for planning and promotional purposes

Editorial
• Participate in the editorial committee to acquire new books. This includes reviewing manuscripts, participating in editorial meetings, and reviewing covers from a marketing perspective
 
QUALIFICATIONS:


• University graduate or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Publishing certificate/course work
• Experience with bibliographic metadata
• Experience creating content for social media
• Experience monitoring and analyzing website and social media metrics
• Project management experience
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel, and Adobe software
Experience with any or all of the following would be an asset (and should be indicated in cover letter): Website CMS/content work, Biblioshare, BNC Catalist, Bookmanager, Booksonix, Edelweiss, CoreSource, NetGalley, MailChimp or other digital newsletter platforms, and graphic design experience for web and social media

Salary Range: $40,000-$43,000
